Meet one of our makers!

Meet one of our Makers Lauren Howell from Collective Style Studio! Lauren has combined two of her great loves, eclectic home decor and the art of gift giving.

She sources unique items for her stall Collective Style Studio and is the maker for Hampsta Hampers. When it came to gift giving I always enjoyed making hampers for family & friends. Each product inside the hamper was handmade. I would produce all my own jams, chutneys, biscuits and slices, which in turn makes it more personal. When Hampsta Hampers came to fruition 2 years ago, it was integral to keep this tradition. Local markets were a great way to get the business out there and by selling at these markets it allowed me to offer catering services for special events such as Weddings, Birthday parties, Baby Showers etc. The hampers do really well throughout the year with my corporate clients, I supply settlement hampers to Ufirst Real Estate in Frankston and Christmas Hampers for Bank of Melbourne.

The original idea for Collective Style Studio at Olinda Collective was to be the physical outlet for the online Event and Prop hire business, however its become more of a retail homewares hub for other small businesses who have transformed to the wholesale platform. These businesses include: Concrete Basics, Ceramic Ninja, Bower and Bee, Pop Tribes and The Bonny Mess just to name a few. 2016 has allowed me to be creative and get my hands dirty with DIY Pinterest projects, some DIY homeware items can be found in store. This is an ever evolving space. Thank you to the Olinda Collective for all your support, Maggie & Sunshine’s encouragement has given young businesses like mine the kick start to flourish.

What’s in stall for Hampsta Hampers & Collective Style Studio in 2016? The focus for this year particularly for Hampsta Hampers is to introduce Cooking Workshops from my Belgrave home starting with a Kitchen/High Tea Workshop, the perfect workshop for mothers day. Everyone loves a bit of DIY, so it would make sense to offer a DIY Homeware workshop through Collective Style Studio somewhere down the track.

Our little shop full of shops

We've been open now for over a month, and have received wonderful feedback, support and love! Thanks to all the stallholders, your making and creating has been very well received and appreciated from customers near and far. This beautiful photo was taken by one of our talented stallholders Sarah from Sarah Louise Photography who also hand pours soy candles, which we sell in store. Thanks to everyone for the support and encouragement x

Olinda Collective a permanent market place for designers in the Dandenongs

Excited to announce that we were featured in the Herald Sun Leader on November 20, 2015.

"TWO hills mums have launched a permanent makers’ market in the heart of Olinda to encourage local designers to spruik their wares. Maggie Meyer and Sunshine Connelly opened the Olinda Collective in October and now have a waiting list of designers hoping to snag a spot inside the boutique.

Handmade clothing for men, women and children, fashion accessories, jewellery, homewares and crocheted rugs are just some of the items on offer among the 19 stalls in the collective and Meyer and Connelly said they still hoped to “unearth” more talented people." read more here

Roc.co

Roc.co Handmade are two sisters working together to produce concrete homewares. We make everything that goes into the products. From creating the molds to mixing the cement, aggregate and water into the concrete. We then waitpatiently for 28 days before we seal, paint, decorate and plant them. Each one has our own personal touch and as a result is unique.

Want to join the collective?

We are currently seeking interest for stall-holders to showcase your wares. This may include (but is not restricted to) handmade items, vintage, upcycled, artists and designers. The space is your own, we encourage you to add your flair and branding, imagine it like your own shop within a shop. Stall prices range from $50-$100 per week depending on size. Large stalls require you to work in the shop on a regular rostered basis, and we take no commission on any sales. Hop onto our contact page and fill out the form, we will get back to you shortly.
